It appears Christmas is here.

It’s December next week! This isn’t right, surely? It feels like I only started university a couple of weeks ago, and now we’re nearly at the Christmas holidays- a whole month off, woohoo! Though I shall spend it revising for two January exams, boo.

Things are still full steam ahead with uni, I’ve had results back from two pieces of work now and I got a First and a 2:1 so I am pretty chuffed! I also had a Quantitative Methods exam yesterday where it seems I correctly identified that Spearman’s Rho and Mann-Whitney U were to be used in two different scenarios, so as long as my maths is correct I should have done rather well. Fingers crossed!

I have also moved back to Essex, rather a long story but I am quite enjoying the commute in the mornings. For now, anyway!

I shall leave you with a bit of drama that happened outside university last friday- a black cab on fire.

Whistle while you work

I think I’ve reached the point where I have so much work to do I don’t do anything. I have a mental block. Next week I have an exam and a deadline for a journal summary on the same day, and a draft of a lab report due the day after. That is just cruel!

I lie. I have been working. Well, revising for my biological approaches to psychology exam. My revision technique is rusty and not particularly helpful- I write everything out longhand. Apparently you are supposed to use flashcards and bullet point everything but I always end up fearful I will bullet point the wrong information and leave out the things I should be learning!

I last sat an exam five years ago. Gulp.

I also watched Derren Brown: The Experiments last night. Really interesting viewing (some people have described it as shocking, I’ll stick with interesting) looking into the idea of brainwashing a person into making an assassination attempt. You can watch the episode (if you live in the UK) here.
